Abducted Zamfara school girls released

It was good news on Tuesday morning, as the news of the release of abducted female students of Government Secondary School Jangebe was broken.

The school girls were kidnapped last week by bandits in, Jangebe Zamfara State.

The news was broken by Governor Bello Matawale on his Twitter handle.

Matawalle who met with the girls in the Government House around 5:45 am stated that all of them were hale and hearty.

He said the actual number of abductees is 279 and not 317 as earlier stated by the police.

Though he stated no ransom was paid for their release, the Governor however stated about 30 repentant bandits were swapped for them.

He urged the Federal government to strengthen capacity of the security agents.

The Governor and his wife, A’isha were at the Government House to receive the freed schoolgirls.
