Alimosho LG Embarks on Drainage Construction to End fifty-year-old flooding

Residents of Jimoh Akinremi and Victoria Streets in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos will soon heap sighs of relief as the council chairman, Hon Sulaimon Jelili and the Lagos state government set to put an end to incessant flood causing problems and sleepness nights to them through the construction of drainages.

The council boss assured the residents of the government commitment to bring relief to the people of the community through the drainage construction.

Sulaimon stated this at the stakeholders’ meeting, held in the community.

The construction of the 1,200 meters drainage will cut across Jimoh Akinremi street through Victoria and down to Lawal street.

The Hon. Chairman expressed his gratitude to the governor of Lagos state, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for joining hands with him in tackling the problem of flooding which has been a source of great concern for the community for over fifty years.

Speaking on the occasion, the contractor in charge of the project, Engr. Bunmi Lofinmakin, assured the residents of a good and satisfactory job as he implored them to desist from the act of using the storm collector as a waste collector.
