Council boss greets health, environmental workers … promises improved workers welfare

As the world celebrate workers day, the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh, has saluted the resilient efforts of the health and environmental workers in the council and Nigeria as a whole in their effort in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
“I salute the resilience efforts, sacrifice, patriotism, and determination of our Health and Environmental workers across the world, who have been working round the clock to ensure that stability return back to the world health system,” he said.
Emphasising the importance of workers to a nation’s development, the council boss stated in his workers’ day celebration message to the people of the council that the workers relentless efforts at all times has taken the council to an enviable position in the state and that there is no nation that achieves any development without the collective effort of the workforce.
“There is no doubt that the success of any nation lies in the strength of its workforce and it is on this note, it remains a special day to celebrate the force behind the drive of the nation.
It’s no gainsaying that the remarkable impact made across all the sectors of governance in bringing growth and development to our dear Local Government is the effective synergy and progressive collaboration provided by Nigeria union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Chapter in driving the vision for a greater and better Oshodi that works which is now a reality,” he said.
Stating further, Ariyoh promised the council’s workforce improved work condition and welfare packages in the days ahead.
“As a government at the grassroots, I will continue to give premium to the welfare of our workforce by providing them enabling and conducive working environment for maximal productivity to be realized,” he said.
Speaking on the effect of the coronavirus, the council boss said: “this year’s celebration of May Day across the globe avails us the opportunity to reflect on the challenges confronting the world with a threat to our healthy living caused by the outbreak of COVID-19”.
