Council Chair Sets Up a 5-Man Revenue Committee

The Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede, has set up a 5-man committee to improve the revenue generation in the council.

Oloyede said the need for setting up the committee was due to the continued dwindling of revenue generation in the council which he said is hampering it from its numerous projects.

The council boss said the Lagos state government has also tasked all local government and local council development areas within the state to improve on their internally generated revenues.

The committee which has Mr Olasunkanmi Daniel as chairman is tasked with the responsibility of devising new means of generating funds for the council.

“The local government revenue generation drive is very low compare to other local governments in the state, I want to urge you to work with the Council Treasurer to come up with ways to improve our IGR. We can not continue with what we are generating now, we need to improve on it to help us in our numerous projects for the benefit of the people,” he said.

In response to the task chairman of the committee, Mr Daniel promised to work assiduously to improve the revenue generation of the council purpose for which the committee was set up.

Also assuring the council chairman, Council Treasurer and member of the committee, Mr Adebiyi Akeem promised robust ways of generating more revenue to the council as he urged the legislators to help in subsisting laws to back the committee in its drive to bring more revenue to the council.

Other members of the committee are Council Manager, Mrs Latifat Balogun; Council Legal Officer, Barrister S.O Adekoya and Barrister Joseph Asine.
