The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Banjo Adeola Adebisi has charged the students in the council area and especially of Odokekere Comprehensive Junior High School to study hard and shun all social vices to ensure they justify the efforts made by the State Government, Corporate Organisations and some distinguished stakeholders to better their lives.
Hon Adebisi gave this advice as he commissions a new three blocks of classroom Odokekere Comprehensive Junior High School built by the community development association of Odokekere.
The block of three classrooms building was initiated by the Community Development Association members of Odokekere before it was taken over by Hon. Kaoli Olusanya, a former Commissioner in Lagos State.
The council chairman said the efforts of Hon Kaoli was quite commendable and it gladdens his heart to see the building coming into fruition.
Adebisi stated that the council also played a contributory role by providing white marker boards for all the classrooms. He, therefore, called on stakeholders to emulate such gesture, close ties with the government in the area of education development as it is the best legacy to bequeath.
The building which was later commissioned by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Sotobi, was provided with furniture meant to take care of the three hundred and fifty students with ten teachers of the school.
The Deputy Chairman of Lagos State, APC, Mr. Sunny Ajose in his speech appreciated the former Commissioner for his noble role promising to donate five hundred thousand naira for further development of the school.
Hon. Kara, representing TESCOM at the event stated that the school would be taken up by Lagos State Ministry of Education to make it more befitting and conducive for effective teaching and learning.
While appreciating the Baale of Odokekere for providing land for this landmark project and members of the Community for their cooperation, Mr. Adenekan who is the CDA Chairman said the efforts was quite a laudable one.
Hon Olusanya thanked the Almighty Allah for coming this far and also commended all the Royal Fathers and stakeholders present at the occasion for sparing their life.
In attendance are the Baale of Odokekere, the CDC Chairman, Mr Odusanya, Councillors, the Secretary to the Local Government and other notable dignitaries.
