COVID-19: Kano extends lockdown by 7 days

Following increase in number of confirmed cases in Kano State, the governor of the state, Abdullah Ganduje has announced extension of the lockdown order in the state by 7 days to slow down community transmissions.
The governor made this declaration in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle at Dr. Ganduje OFR. @GovUmarGanduje on Tuesday.
“With our COVID-19 cases now almost 700, the lockdown in the state will now be extended for another 7 days to slow down the spread. This decision was reached after consultations with the Federal Government.
Please remember to maintain social distancing, wash your hands regularly and wear your face masks whenever you need to head out,” he tweeted.
Kano state now has a total of 666 confirmed cases with 571 active cases, 63 discharged and 32 deaths.
