The Executive Chairman of Eti Osa Local Government, Hon. Saheed Bankole, has reassured people of the council of improved services and completion of ongoing projects embarked upon by his administration.
Bankole who spoke at a three days year 2021 budget retreat in Lagos rekindled hope of the residents as he said the budget will be people-oriented and focus on completion of ongoing developmental projects within the council.
The three days Year 2021 Budget Retreat which was held between Tuesday,19th to Thursday, 21st January, 2021 took place at The Patron Hotel, Sangotedo.
The retreat was held in compliance with all the COVID 19 protocols fully adhered to starting with decontamination of the venue by the Environmental Health Officers of the council.
Hon. Saheed Bankole expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the grace to witness the occasion despite all the challenges faced in the previous year.
Speaking further, Bankole, noted that the year 2021 budget which is tagged ‘Budget of Sustainability’ will be prudently implemented noting that capital expenditure is his major focus.
He said, though, the recurrent expenditure is a must-do but the ratio has to be miles apart.
During the appraisal, the council boss admonished all the technocrats of the Local Government to be reasonable with their proposals while urging them to be selfless in the defence of their various departmental proposals, he reiterated that human capital development and empowerment of the youths and people generally are much more important.
He said, “the people who gave us this mandate are expecting us to deliver all our electioneering promises so with God on our side, I am bent on achieving these feats.”
He implored all the stakeholders to support his administration and discharge their duties by pleading with their subjects to pay all levies and taxes due to the Local Government as at when necessary so that the goals of bringing Eti Osa to an enviable height will collectively be achieved.
Bankole thereafter charged them to spread the message on the 2nd wave of COVID-19 in the neighbourhood. He said as the Nation is battling to combat the virus all hands must be on deck.
He said, “the Local Government would also make more sacrifices to further flatten the curve. Our health officers will intensify efforts in creating massive awareness and publicity across all our wards. Please comply with all the rules of COVID19 as the 2nd wave is deadlier.”
Present at the retreat is the leader of the house, Hon. Muftau Ogunderu, his deputy, Hon. Jamiu Kehinde, Majority Leader, Hon. Afiz, the Chief Whip, Hon. Abayomi Towolawi and Hon. Habeeb Eshinlokun. Also in attendance are the Head of Administration, Mr. HIK Buhari, the Management staff, the Lisa of Ikate land, Chief Moroof Sanni Elegushi, the Baale of Lafiaji, the party chairman, Mr. Modiu Shade (JP), Alhaji Muibi an apex leader of the party, Mr Akinloye, LGA Secretary APC, the Revenue Committee Chairman, Mr. Pius Egbonwon and host of others.
