Fire Razes Lagos Computer Village

A section of the popular Computer Village, Ikeja Lagos, market has been gutted by a fire inferno that occur early Monday morning.

Though the fire had been put out as at press time, the level of damage was massive following the intensity of the fire.

It could have been more, sources said, but for the quick intervention of early responders.

It was gathered that the fire outbreak started at Otigba Street in the Computer and Village.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He said; “there was a fire incident at 18, Otigba Street, Computer Village, Ikeja early hour of today. The fire engulfed a shopping complex. As soon as the report was received, Fire Fighters were contacted and they arrived immediately. Policemen were drafted there to protect the Fire fighters and others. The fire has been put out successfully. No life was lost in the incident. However, valuable property which estimates are not yet known were destroyed.”
