Former Nigerian deputy senate president is dead

A former deputy senate president of the upper legislative house in Nigeria,the senate,senator Ibrahim Mantu is dead.

The ebullient former senate president died Tuesday morning at a private hospital in Abuja after few days of being sick.

It was gathered that he fell ill nine days ago and when his condition became critical, he was rushed to a private hospital in the federal capital territory where he died this morning.

Senator Ibrahim Mantu played significant role in the political landscape of Nigeria as a member of the people’s democratic party (PDP), under the banner he was elected senator.

Funeral prayer will be held in Abuja this morning.

Senator Ibrahim Mantu hailed from Gindiri district in Mangu local government area of Plateau state.
