Glitz as Oshodi-Isolo Hosts Inauguration Ceremony for Oloyede

… Council Chair says Health system in Commatose, ready to rehabilitate it

The Oshodi-Isolo local government secretariat was filled to brim on Wednesday as it hosted the inauguration of the council chairman Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede in a grand style.

Oloyede who won the Saturday 24 July local government election in Lagos was sworn in by the state Governor along other council chairmen on Tuesday.

He was subsequently welcomed to the council same Tuesday by members of his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and staff members of the council as he staged a triumphant entry into the local with songs of praise and dance.

Having been enthusiastically welcomed to the council, the chairman sworn in the legislative arm of the local government.

To bring people together for praises and appreciation, an inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday at the council secretariat.

The venue was well decorated with a gigantic canopy placed in the centre of the council secretariat.

DJ Real (Emir of Lagos) was on standby dishing out sonorous songs to the delight of all seated. Just before the arrival of the council Chairman, Oloyede and his entourage, the DJ delighted everyone with different music.

Starting the inauguration ceremony on note of recitation of national anthem, a symbol of respect for the nation.

Guests were introduced and rushed to the high table with courtesy.

In his welcome address at the occasion, the Acting Chairman of the APC, Oshodi-Isolo local government, Hon Saheed Animashaun thank God and all party members for their unflinching support before, during and after the election that brought in Oloyede as chairman of the council.

The occasion was charged with a live performance by Fuji maestro, Alhaji Shefiu Alao who sang melodious songs to the admiration of all.

Speaking at the occasion, the Elewu of Ewu, Oba Hashim Kuti appreciated the peaceful terrain experienced during the election period and called for its sustenance post-election.

While speaking at the event, Hon Wasiu Banjo who represented Chief of staff, to governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said, the state government believes in Otunba Oloyede as a developer to use his experience as a developer of repute for the development of Oshodi-Isolo local government.
“We believe that you will use this opportunity to further develop Oshodi as a developer of repute.”

The Chairman National Union of Roads Transport Workers, Lagos chapter, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), thank God and thanked the parents of Oloyede for their proper upbringing and their prayers for him.

He seized the occasion to advise youths to take proper care of their parents.

He said, “Given the life of Oloyede, it was as a result of his parents’ prayer on him and this happens as a result of his care for his parents, I urge you all to take care of your parents, this is the only way to a peaceful and successful life.”

When it was time for the Chairman to make his speech, everyone stood still to welcome him. In his speech, Oloyede said, “I thank God for bringing peace between my brother and myself, we have now become one u united family.”

He further reassured the people of his commitment to work to bring unprecedented infrastructural development to Oshodi-Isolo.
He said, “I want to congratulate the people of Oshodi for having me as their Chairman, our health system in Oshodi is in comatose, I will work to better our health facilities in Oshodi.
With the support of God and you, we will bring unprecedented development to Oshodi-Isolo.”

Speaking on rehabilitation work that commenced on Adeyemi Street, Oloyede said, he has started to communicate the former chairman, Hon Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh and member Lagos state house of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency 1, Hon Hakeem Shokunle and the state Commissioner for Housing, Hon Maruf Akinderu Fatai on possibility of getting the road fix immedilaty he resumed office.

“I have not resumed as chairman when I met with Ariyoh on the state of Adeyemi street I also met with MAF, they both started working on it and today work has started on the street, what we need is synergy and with this synergy, our local government will be better for it,” he said.
