Group donates food, other items to Kirikiri inmates, orphanage home

A non-governmental organisation, sisters of Jannah, Lagos zone, has donated food and other items to the kirikiri correctional facility and the Bab-es-Sallam orphanage home to ease them during the holy month of Ramadan.

Some of the items donated at the orphanage include a 7.5kg washing machine, pressing irons, calculators, toiletries, writing materials and many more. In the same vein, the group donated items such as food items, toiletries, buckets ad many more to the correctional facility.

Speaking to our correspondent, the group deputy coordinator, Mrs Alagbe Monsurat, said the gesture is part of the group’s effort to assist the government in many of its numerous responsibilities. She added that the effort is also geared towards earning extra reward, especially in this holy month of Ramadan.

The publicity secretary of the group, Mrs Shakira Adeleke, explained that for the past three weeks that Ramadan has started, the group had shared both raw and cooked food to the less well-off in the society. This, she said, is being done by every of the group’s zones all over the country. She prayed that the almighty accept all their efforts as acts of worship.
