Ikorodu North, Ejigbo Council Bosses, win re-election

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) sweeps Saturday, 24 July, the Lagos State local government elections, the chairman of Ikorodu North local council development, Hon Adeola Adebisi Banjo has been declared winner of the election.

Hon Banjo was declared the winner by the Returning Officer of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) haven secured the highest number of votes cast during the election on Saturday.

He polled 3,646 to defeat his major contender, candidate of the Accord party who secured 636 while candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 155.

Also declared winner of the local government and local council development election is the chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon Monsuru Oloyede Bello.

Bello polled 10,090 votes out of total vote counts of 10,900 to beat his major contender in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Rasheed Otegbola who garnered 789 votes. The Youth Progressive Party (YPP) without candidate got 21 votes.

Having secured the required percentage of the total vote counts, Bello was declared the winner by the Returning Officer and is returned as the elected chairman of the council area.
