Ikosi-Isheri Council Chair Rolls Out Administration’s Achievements in 14 Months in Office

The Executive Chairman of Ikosii-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada has listed her administration’s landmark achievements in the last 14 months in office.

The council boss while reeling out her administration’s achievements within the short span of assumption of office assured residents of the council of more dividends of democracy if given another chance to serve them.

The Mayoress, as she is fondly called by the people listed the achievements on Thursday, April 1st, at the council secretariat during an interactive session with journalists.

Princess Bada listed some of the achievements to include, rehabilitation of roads in Femi Oguns street in Magodo, Ademola Osinowo street in Ikosi, Alhaji Yekini Aromolate street, Ketu, Jamiu Balogun and Elegbeleye streets, Ketu among others.

She also mentioned the ongoing construction and remodelling of the Ikosi fruits market, which according to her has reached 70 per cent completion stage and the establishment of the first customary court situated at the council secretariat and ongoing construction of the three-storey administrative block, also at the council secretariat as other achievements of her administration in the last 14 months.

Speaking further on her achievements in office, the council boss said her administration has given a facelift to the education sector in the council.

Bada disclosed that her administration, during the period under review, distributed various educational materials, furniture for teachers and pupils and hand sanitisers to the 12 public primary schools in the council area.
On Primary Health Care Service, Princess Bada submitted that her administration, since assumption of office on January 31, 2020, has been providing free drugs in all the primary Healthcare centres of the council adding that periodic immunization of children and provision of maternal care for mothers have been a top priority.
While acknowledging the fact that there were obstacles and challenges in the course of actualising many of her goals for the council, she noted that she did not allow the challenges to deter her from impacting positively in the lives of people of the council, said she has consistently distributed food packs and stipends to the elderly, widows and youths every month.

Related to this, according to her, was the periodic distribution of various food items to the majority of residents within the council, during covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Other achievements as listed by the Mayoress, include the donation of utility vehicles to the police, revenue officers and chieftaincy committee, donation of 500 KVA transformer to Maidan Patele-Orile community, construction of pipe-borne water at Orisha Community and provision of potable water supply to Expressway and Ikosi primary schools.

Princess Bada, the first female chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, expressed her profound appreciation to the media for the continued support to her administration in showcasing the various achievements to the world.

She appealed to the media to continue to partner with her administration and the council in the quest to meet the expectations of the people.

Top political office holders and principal officials of the council in attendance at the media interactive session are, the council’s Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mukail Adisa, the Council Manager, Prince Olujobi Sunday, Special Adviser to the Chairman on Works, Hon Riliwan Akinwale and Special Adviser on Health, Market and Revenue, Hon Ismail Onikosi.
