Kendoo Commences Macarthy Lane, Oshodi, Rehabilitation Works

The popular Oshodi Market on Macarthy Lane has received the working hands of the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede (Kendoo), as he commenced resurfacing and rehabilitation of the deplorable street.

Residents, market men and women of the Macharthy Lane, Oshodi were pleasantly surprised on Sunday, 3 October, as the council chairman gave the street heads-on rehabilitation.

The contractor handling the road rehabilitation project moved equipments into the street and commenced work immediately.

The project which is in continuation of the developmental strides of the Otunba Oloyede led administration has a life span of four weeks to be executed by the contractor.

The resurfacing which is being executed by OAP and Associates LTD will see the street being transformed from what it used to be.

Most of the residents who spoke with journalists this morning commended the council boss for his exploits in a short time, praying for more strength to enable him take Oshodi to greater heights.

A resident, Kayode Olawale said; “this really shocked me, I wasn’t expecting something like this here this morning, this road has remain in deplapidated state for years without it be repaired, thank God for the government of Kendoo that remembered us and doing it for us, may God bless him”.

A market woman, Mrs Esther Chukwu who trades in clothing materials in the market could not hide her feelings as she said she was delighted for the rehabilitation works, saying it will further improve sales as the market is a major one in Oshodi.

“I am happy this Street is being rehabilitated now, it will help bring more sales to us as marketers, I thank the charlirman for helping us on this street,” she said.
