Lagos Housing Commissioner, Oshodi/Isolo LG boss visit Makinde Police Station set ablaze by hudlooms

The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh with the Honorable Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatal, who represented the State Governor on Saturday paid on spot assessment to Makinde police station set ablaze by hudlooms who attacked the station on Thursday following the #ENDSARS protest which tunred violence in the state.

The council chairman during the on-spot assessment expressed his state of pain with the damage that occurred which claimed lives and property of both government and private individuals.

His word, ” it is so disheartening that avoidable crisis was allowed to degenerate into the destruction of lives and property which are colossal.

“The incident is an ugly one to behold looking at the lives lost and property damage due to crisis that could have been well managed for peace to reign,” Ariyoh said.

The Council Boss, after going around the building of the Police station razed down and vehicles burnt said the government would swing into investigation to unravel the cause of the crisis with that for justice to be served while culprits brought to book.

The medium was also used to pay a condolence visit to the family of Mr.Vitalis Ukaegbu who lost their son as a result of a stray bullet during the crisis.

The Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatal on behalf of the State Government sympathized with the bereaved family and pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable while he encouraged them to be strong in this trying moment.

He assured the family that the incident would be reported to the state government for necessary intervention and support occasioned by the demise.

The residents have been advised to remain calm in the face of the crisis ongoing with the hope that peace and normalcy will return as the government is already setting motion in place for order to be restored to the community.

They were assured of government commitment to bring the culprits to book while adequate compensation to all the victims in the crisis

The on-spot assessment had the Legislators , Exco members and notable community leaders.
