Lagos Police Nab Two Suspected Armed Robbers Who Attack Uber Driver, Recover Car

It was end of the robbery road for two suspected armed robbers who attacked a Uber driver in Lagos on Sunday night as the state’s Police Command caught them in the act.

The suspected armed robbers, Okem Monday, male, 26 and Lawrence Daniel, male, 20, were said to have snatched a uber driver, Utibe, Toyota Corola car with Reg. No LND 448 GH at Abijo GRA, Ibeju Lekki on Sunday at aroumd 11:30pm.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Olumuyiwa Adejobi, after the force received a distress call on Sunday, immediatley ordered the Area Commander Area J, Ajah to chase the armed robbers and they were traced to Mayfair Garden where they met the armed robbers and the driver serioulsy injured.

He said: “On the receipt of the distress call, the Area Commander Area J, Ajah, despatched a team to the scene and traced the snatched car to Mayfair Garden, Ibeju Lekki, where the suspects were arrested, driver rescued and the car recovered. The Police also recovered one axe, stained with blood, and one knife from the suspects.

The driver, who was seriously injured, is receiving treatment at a hospital within Lagos State and recuperating.”

Adejobi disclosed further that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for discreet investigation into the case, while he warned those who are planning to engage in criminal acts or have been involved in one crime or the other to desist and flee Lagos State , or else, they meet their waterloo in no time.
