The Lagos Waste Mangement Agency Academy has certified 29 pupils on waste managment.
The waste management agency achieved this at its maiden edition of LAWMA Academy 2021 summer school.
The 29 pupils who participated in the training and got certified were selected from different schools within Lagos State to take part in the summer coaching on waste managment.
The agency’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, joined by the Executive Director Finance, Mr. Kunle Adebiyi, presented certificates to the pupils at the end of the training.
The pupils were trained on basic waste management techniques and also taken round LAWMA’s key facilities, like Olusosun dumpsite and LAWMA Earthcare Compost Plant, Ikorodu, for on-site experience.
Several items made by the pupils during their one month training, include: beads and pencil cases made from plastics; centre tables made from tyres; and baskets made from newspapers, among others.
