Lawmakers pass vote of confidence on council chair

In a no dissenting voice among the seven lawmakers of the legislative arm of Alimosho Local Government at its sitting on 3rd December, 2020, pass vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon.

At the meeting presided over by the leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Ahmed Obadina, the councillors unanimously pass the vote of confidence on the council chairman saying they will not allow distraction from some disgruntled elements in the political terrain of the council.

According to Obadina these elements aim is to stifle progress made by the administration of Hon Sulaimon through unnecessary petitions.

He said, “we unanimously reject the phantom allegations in the diversionary petition aimed at distracting the good governance of Alimosho Local Government, the sent petition is designed to incite the public and scuttle the progressive focus of the government”.

“We are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the Hon. Jelili Sulaimon led administration has pursued the people’s agenda and through many positive initiatives he has brought to the council and has implemented laws passed by this house, has successfully implemented a reform agenda designed to bring about unprecedented growth, diversification of the economy, systemic improvement in the public service, greater transparency and accountability, protection of lives and properties and relief to millions of ordinary people of Alimosho Local Government.”

The lawmakers in their confidence vote on the chairman further said Hon Sulaimon’s administration offered hope and succour to people irrespective of class, tribe, and religion in a way no administration before him has achieved.
