Ogun Commissioner for Education promises improved education as AEI pays visit

In furtherance of its strides at ensuring academic excellence among Nigerian students, the Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), has paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu on Wednesday.

Receiving the AEI team lead by its Executive Director, Mr Faheed Olajide, the commissioner, commended the initiative for its unrelenting strides in educational development in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

In his words, the Executive Director of AEI, appreciated the commissioner for speedy approval of the organisation’s request to pay a visit to the ministry.

Olajide seized the occasion to acquaint the Commissioner of AEI’s series of activities at engaging students across the country in promoting academic excellence.

He appealed for a continued partnership in education in the state as he called on the Commissioner to support the forthcoming statewide quiz competition and other programmes of the AEI.

Prof Arigbabu thanked the AEI and promised them of the state’s commitment to partner with them in the development of education.

The commissioner also said the Ogun state government is focused on improving the standard of education in the state.

Others on the visiting team include the Ogun State Coordinator of AEI Mr. Y.A Giasu, the Egba/Yewa zone Project Coordinator, Mr. Wasiu Oladele, Mr. Olaniyi and Mrs Uthman, an AEI Tutor and Counsellor. While on the side of the Ministry were the Permanent Secretary and three Directors of the ministry.

The AEI congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment and presented him with a congratulatory note frame.
