The lawmakers in a motion by Hon. Kazeem Abayomi of Ogunoloko ward and supported by the majority leader, Hon. Azeez Jayeola, while all others unanimously accepted the motion and ordered the clerk of the house, to as a matter of urgency, write a letter through the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede to the General Manager of the LSPWC.

Speaking with journalists after the sitting, Hon Abayomi disclosed that he was constrained to move the motion seeing the speed at which vehicles are moving on the newly rehabilitated road and that to prevent the children who are resuming schools soon from avoidable accidents, there is a need for speed breakers and conspicuous road signs at different junctions on the road, especially the ones close to schools.

According to him “I moved the motion in the interest of our children who will be resuming academic activities soon. Due to the smoothness of the road, motorists drive on it at high speed, so to mitigate against any unwarranted disaster, we need to call on our chairman to help prevail on the LSPWC to come to our aid. “

The majority leader, Hon. Jayeola said the motion was a lovely one and he supported it, stressing that the lives of the pupils matter to them as legislators.

The Leader of the house, Hon Rasheed Adeshina Obasa described the motion as ‘germane’ and that the house has given the clerk the order to send the letter to the chairman immediately.
