The massive roads rehabilitation works in Oshodi-Isolo local government by the council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede continues on Monday as Suwebatu Street resurfacing begins.
Suwebatu street is a major road linking Oshodi Road and Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
The council boss, Oloyede, said he will not waver on his determination to deliver 20 roads within the first 100 days in office.
He said; “We are embarking on these roads rehabilitation as a way of building an Oshodi-Isolo of our dream and also a way of fulfilling our campaign promises which we have made with our people.
“We are determined to revamp the infrastructural decay in our local government. We are less than two months into this administration and we have been able to hit the ground running with massive roads rehabilitation and pipe borehole water drilling across all wards of the local government”.
He promised that more of dividends of democracy will be enjoyed by residents of the council.
A shop owner at Suwebatu Street, Sola Akinola, thanked the local government chairman for considering the business dominated area worthy of repairs, saying it will further boost patronage and business activities.
“This road is a major road linking Oshodi road and Oshodi Apapa Expressway moreso it is a market route, we are grateful to the council chairman for rehabilitating the road for us. It will further improve patronage from customers and improve our sales because before now, many customers cannot come here because of the bad road,” he said.
