As the Lagos State givernment marks yet another year of tree planting day, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon Bolaji Muse Ariyoh has lauded the sacrifices made by the health workers in the fight against corona virus.
Ariyoh said the importance of the health workers can never be over emphasised given their commitment and dedication to the fight against the corona virus pandemic in the community and state as a whole.
Ariyoh while speaking at this year’s tree planting day, enjoined residents to imbibe the culture of planting trees in their domains and avoid cutting trees to guarantee green environment for sustainable growth and healthy living in the community and state at large.
He said: “the commemoration of this year’s tree planting is of value to everyone in the community, however, we are dedicating the day to the frontline workers who have been risking their lives for the safety of all in the community and the nation at large”.
Speaking further at Owoseni Primary school venue of the tree plant, the council boss stressed that tree planting and preservation will help in conserving the environment from erosion and provide quality air for benefit of the residents.
The Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu was represented by Mr. Saheed Sanusi, an Assistant Director at the Lagos state Parks and Garden.
Sanusi said the governor also dedicated this year’s tree planting day to health workers who have been working day and night in combating COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
The Governor representative led other dignitaries to plant trees within the local government jurisdiction.
Other dignitaries at the event include leader of the council legislative arm, Hon Obasa, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Taoheed Oladipupo, supervisors and other few council executives members.
