Oshodi-Isolo LG Residents Put List of Roads in Bad State before Council Chair

…. As Council Chair Reassures Completion of 20 Roads Within First 100 Days in Office

Moved by the recent rehabilitation of the Adeyemi Street, Ogunoloko Road and Baderin Street, Oshodi, by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LASPWC), residents of Oshodi-Isolo local government have listed other streets in the council that need urgent rehabilitation attention.

The residents appealed to the local government chairman whom they described as starting on a positive note to help them facilitate the rehabilitation of the streets for commercial and human movements.

The resident listed Olaiya, Branco, Arowojobe, Wahab Larinde, Mosaku, Sunmola Abayomi, Raji Abayomi, Odunmbaku, Aduke-Thomas and Oluyeye Streets.

Others listed are Dipeolu, Alade, Emmanuel, Samuel, Salami, Ijaiye, Ayodele, Oyetola, Ariori, Fabukade, Saubana, Osundeyi, Abolaji, Akani Showunmi, Lemo and Ariori Streets.

A resident of Olaiya Street, Mrs Kike Davies, speaking with The Bliss News said the street which links other majori streets within the community is in a dilapidated state that needs urgent attention.

“Olaiya street Mafoluku also needs attention” she said while commending the good work done on Adeyemi Street.

Another resident who prefers anonymity equally appreciated the local government for the rehabilitation of Adeyemi Street. He however called on the local government chairman to help.the community in fixing the remaining roads in bad shape within the council.

“We appreciate the chairman for a good beginning on his resumption of office, we still however need him to urgently fix these bad roads in the council. If all the roads are fixed our business activities will improve, we urge him to please hearken our calls and pay attention to our plight,” he said.

When contacted by The Bliss News, the Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede said the roads listed by residents and others are part of his administration focus to be rehabilitated, reinstating that he will rehabilitate 20 roads within the first 100 days in office.

He said “We remain committed to bringing holistic infrastructural development to our local government. We will fulfil our campaign promises during the electioneering campaign. We have said we will complete 20 roads in our first 100 days in office, this is a vow we have made and we will ensure its fulfilment.

We have put all machineries in place to kick start the roads project from next month.”
