Oyo Governor, Makinde commissions model school

The Oyo Staye Governor, Eng Seyi Makinde, has commissioned a newly built model school in Itesiwaju Local Government area of the state.

Makinde while commissioning the school yesterday stated that his administration will continue to do all within his power to make life lot easier for the people of the state.

He also disclosed that a counterpart funding for eductaion development has been paid to the state Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in order to continue uncompleted projects by the previous administration.

The governor said it is the priority of his administration to complete all ongoing projects in the state.

“Today (yesterday), we commissioned a model school, Anwar-Ul-Islam Basic School, Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area. This is one of twenty-two model schools completed by this administration in the past one year.
Since we assumed office about a year ago, our administration has made it a priority to complete all outstanding projects. For this reason, we paid UBEC counterpart funding for 2018 and 2019, and this enabled us to access matching grants to complete these infrastructural projects,” he said.
