According to residents, the falling of the cable wasn’t the first as they said around this time last yea8 the same incident happened

A resident, Hamza Thanni said they have reported the case to the Ikeja Electric Plc for help when the poles were visibly in a dilapidated state and written them but didn’t respond to the letter nor did they come to fix the damaged cable and poles in the street.

A copy of the correspondence which was made available to The Bliss News reads; “ Dear Sir /MA,
This is to notify you of another falling pole at 62, Olaiya street Mafoluku Oshodi Lagos.
I would appreciate your swift response to this matter. Thank you in anticipation of your prompt response as we await your response on SR 2737180.”

When there was no response from the electricity company the residents resolved to self-help by cementing the poles but this didn’t last long as it was carved in early Monday morning leaving the cables falling on vehicles on the street.

When this happened, the residents again have written the power company to help them fix the poles and cables for them to enjoy power supply this festive season.
The letter reads: “ Dear Sir /Ma,

This is to notify you that the pole has fallen this morning at about 8:30 am.
Awaiting your swift response.”
