Robbers shot man in Ajao Estate

There was pandemonium in Ajao Estate, Isolo Lagos, on Wednesday, as residents scramble for safety when a group of armed robbers storm Awoniyi Elemo Street, rob a man going to bank with bag of money and shot him on his two legs.

The young man, whose name could not be ascertain, though did not die, but sustain serious injuries from the bullets shot at his two legs.

The robbers went away with the money after shooting severally at the young man on his legs.

Men of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Saftey Corps (LNSC) who rushed to the scene before the police arrived later told The Bliss News that the young man has been taken to the Isolo General Hospital by the men of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for treatment.

An eye witness, John, who claimed he and the robbery victim were on the keke while coming from the Canoe side of the Estate said, the young man received calls while in the triclycle telling the person he was going to drop the money with in the bank that he was very close.

He said: “When we were coming, they have been calling him on phone, he told the person who is waiting in the bank to collect the money from him that he was very close that he would soon be with him. As we are coming, I saw two guys in Okada following us from behind trailing us not knowing they were robbers until we alighted and they drag the bag with the man but he refused to give them, while dragging the bag, one of them shoot in the air but the young man still did not release the bag to them. That was when they started shooting him on his two legs. His two legs are now condemend”.

Adding that if he survies the injuries sustain, he doubt if the young man can walk straight with those legs again.

The Ajao Estate Police Station arrived the scene later and have started tracing of the robbers.

Promised to fish out the robbers as they head to the general hospital where the young man was taken to for treatment.
