The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned 264 housing units in the state on Thursday.

Sanwo-Olu said the housing units which was commissioned at Courtland Luxury Villa and Ikate Elegushi areas of the state is meant to ensure affordable houses for residents of the state.

He said the projects were inherited from the previous administration but his determination to make life lit easier for the people drive his administration to complete the projects.

Today, at the commissioning of the 264 units of flats at Courtland Luxury Villas and Ikate Elegushi Lekki Apartments, I restated the determination of our administration to build affordable houses for Lagosians.

Completing the project was however a challenged at the beginning of his administration as a result of paucity of funds but he said he was able to move in partnership with public private partnership arrangement.

“I inherited the project amongst several others & the critical challenge we had to contend with was a lack of funds. We looked towards the private sector & adopted the public-private partnership (PPP) model through which we were able to raise the funds to complete this project.

This is a manifestation of the possibilities attainable when the public and private sectors come together to pursue a mutually beneficial goal.

This cooperation remains a useful means of meeting the shortfall in the supply of public utilities and social infrastructure,” he said.
