Tension as INEC disqualifies Soludo, bars PDP from Anambra governorship election

Tensions are high in Anambra state as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), disqualified a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Charles Soludo from participating in the 2021 Governorship Election of the state scheduled to hold on November 6th.

In the list published by INEC and made available to DAILY INDEPENDENT, APGA’S Chukwuma Umeoji replaced Professor Charles Soludo who emerged as the party’s flagbearer.

According to the electoral body, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also will not participate in the election as it has no candidate due to a court order.
